While, one can’t ensure zero chances of getting infected by Covid 19, but it is even necessary to move out of the house to buy groceries and other essential items. Since most of the communities and businesses are open now, there is always a risk of contracting the virus. Here are a few measures which one can take if you step out of the home to protect yourselves from the coronavirus:

Go out if it’s Essential

As per the CDC – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the best possible way to protect yourself is to avoid going out of home i.e. to limit the exposure to the pathogens. One should go out only if it’s completely necessary and also reduce your number of visits to the market or any other place.

Be Prepared

Keep a mask, hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, cleaning wipes and tissues in your handbag before you head out.

Check if the Place is open

Many shops, eating joints and businesses are now shut or are open for limited hours. Therefore, always be aware of the probable closing of the place and the restrictions imposed before you head out of your house.

Don’t go out if you are Unwell

If you have any symptom of the coronavirus or you are in close contact with someone who has Covid 19, it is advisable to stay indoors. Otherwise, you will jeopardize the safety of other people as well. Even, if you don’t have Covid 19, still remain at home and rest.

Maintain Social Distancing

The closer you are to the other people, higher chances of you getting infected as the disease get spread through respiratory droplets when a person coughs or sneezes. Maintain a distance of 6 feet with others when you are out.

Follow Public Etiquette

Wearing a mask is mandatory and ensure there is no space between your face and the mask. Avoid touching it repeatedly. Always sneeze in your sleeves or use a tissue paper, upon using it to throw it in the closed bin. Wash your hands often or apply sanitizer frequently.

Keep a Control on your Hand

It is very essential and the most ignored one, whenever you are in a public place avoid touching your face, eyes and nose. Don’t touch surfaces or objects such as lift handle, door knobs, elevator buttons and many more to prevent yourself from getting infected.
