Patients are recommended hospitalization when their situation is critical and 24×7 surveillance under medical experts is required. It can be anything from a mosquito-borne disease to a life-threatening condition which requires admitting the patient into the hospital, depending on various factors.
It is true that the Doctors, nurses, and other supporting staff play a major role in the treatment of hospitalized patients. But do you know that relatives and friends of the patient also have a significant role to play?
Here’s how you can help in treating hospitalized patients who are your loved ones:
Avoid over-crowding:
It is understood that every one of your relatives wants to visit the patient. Though we understand that family members are there because they are concerned but the over-crowding of hospitals with extended family and friends just for the sake of formality is not appreciated. It disturbs the over-all peaceful ambience of the hospital. So, take care that not more than 2-3 people visit the patient at one time.
Disturbed Sleep Cycle:
According to the condition of the patient, the hospital might require you to visit the patient only during stipulated hours. Respect the rule as otherwise, it might affect the sleep cycle of the patient in disrupting the treatment process.
Don’t bring little children:
Little children are vulnerable to infections around them. Therefore, if they aren’t themselves the patient, it is best to keep them away from the hospital area.
The only doctor recommended food:
Sometimes people get emotional and bring food for the patient that goes against the treatment line. Please don’t do so. Once they get well you can feed them with their favourite food but till then follow the recommended diet.
