Reasons You Get Radiating Pain In Leg

You may have heard people complaining of burning pain along with numbness in their legs. This type of pain in legs can disable you to a point and is not relieved easily. Effects of medications are usually temporary so the root cause of pain should be known to treat it more effectively. Here are some common reasons that cause back pain that radiates to your legs:

Slip disc

Disc prolapse is a common problem which occurs due to poor ergonomics like lifting heavy weights without squatting. It is important to get treated for it as soon as possible as amount of pain radiation is disabling. Your physiotherapist will recommend you to do some exercises for cure and suggest you to apply heat in lower back for pain. Lumbosacral belt may be helpful but dependence on it should be avoided.

Muscle tightness

Nerves get trapped in between hip muscles to cause radiation in leg and cause tenderness in hip. This occurs as hip muscles like piriformis get shortened. Stretching your hip muscles such as hamstrings and piriformis gives instant relief to pain. These stretches should be performed regularly to avoid re occurrence of pain. Sitting on floor and keeping wallet in back pocket should be avoided to avoid nerve compression.

Faulty posture

Your posture may be at fault if lifestyle changes are not helping you. Check if your shoulders are at same level or your lower back is to hollow or too shallow.
